ABSN Tuition
If your calling is to become a nurse, you owe it to yourself to pursue the profession. Going back to school for nursing, however, requires financial planning. As you review our ABSN tuition and program fees, keep in mind that a BSN degree is a good return on your investment.
We base our ABSN tuition on the number of credits required to graduate.
2023-2024 Academic Year | Credit Hours | Cost |
---|---|---|
Prerequisite tuition per credit hour | $475 | |
Tuition deposit (applied toward the first semester) | $250 | |
Total program fees (approximate) | $1,655 | |
Nursing tuition per credit hour | 68 credit hours | $1,025 |
Total ABSN program tuition | $69,700 | |
Total estimated cost (tuition + fees) | $71,355 |
Tuition and fees are subject to change without notice.
Total estimated tuition does not include any applicable late registration fees, non-sufficient fund fees, or late payment fees.
In addition to regular university costs, students must provide their own transportation between the campus and clinical areas beginning with the first nursing course. Public transportation is limited, so provision for private transportation is essential.
ABSN Program and Course Fees
Separate from the ABSN tuition, several program fees are associated with being an accelerated nursing student. Program fees include Technology Fee, Telehealth Only Fee, Kaplan, CB Bridges (background check, drug screen, etc.), and CPNW (consortium).
Health requirement fees, laboratory fees, student uniforms, textbooks, other learning materials, and any necessary equipment are the responsibility of the student.
Course fees are charged to student accounts each semester. These fees support the purchase of equipment, materials and supplies in the practice labs and Learning Resource Center, clinical placements, external testing measures, computer materials and software. The fee is paid with tuition following registration for specific courses.
ABSN Prerequisite Costs
As a condition of enrollment into our ABSN program, you must complete seven prerequisite courses within our specified requirements. Prerequisite costs are separate from the ABSN tuition.
Total tuition per student may vary depending on the number of prerequisite courses needed.
Paying for Nursing School
ABSN students may not qualify for federal, state or university grants and scholarships. But there are several financing options to consider, such as direct federal loans, private loans and third-party scholarships. Contact Student Financial Services at (253) 535-7161 to learn more.
FAFSA Advice
Given the low-interest loan options available through the U.S. Department of Education, we encourage you to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is the only way to know what direct federal loan(s) you can receive. To be eligible for federal student financial aid, you must be:
- Accepted into a degree program
- Enrolled in at least six credit hours per term
- A U.S. citizen in good financial standing
- Registered for Selective Service, if applicable
