ABSN Prerequisites

Before enrolling in our ABSN program, you must satisfy seven prerequisite requirements. ABSN prerequisites lay the foundation for program success and are essential to nursing career preparedness. Please be aware that the time it takes to complete these prerequisites is separate from the 16-month time frame of our ABSN program.

BIOL 201Intro to Microbiology + Lab*4 credits
BIOL 205Human Anatomy & Physiology I + Lab*4 credits
BIOL 206Human Anatomy & Physiology II + Lab*4 credits
CHEM 105Chemistry of Life + Lab*4 credits
PSYC 320Development Across the Lifespan4 credits
STAT 231Introductory Statistics4 credits
NUR120Nutrition in Healthcare1 credit

*You must complete these courses within six years of your ABSN program start date.

Prerequisite Requirements

  • Earn a grade of B- or higher in each course
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Courses must be completed at a regionally accredited institution

Transfer Credits

Depending on your previous field of undergraduate study, you may have already satisfied some of our ABSN prerequisites. Your admissions representative can tell you if any past credits are transferable.
